Gessner’s poetic world between Arcadia and the Enlightenment

Description: 4 vols., contemporary green morocco, with green morocco onlay to spine, lettered and decorated with gilt floral motifs. marbled endpapers. Small octavo: 19 × 12 cm; pp. (vol.1) xii, 319, with frontispiece and 15 pls.; (vol.2) [1], 282, with frontispiece and 11 pls.; (vol.3) [1], 264, [1], with frontispiece and 15 pls.; (vol.4) [1], 295, [1], with frontispiece and 5 pls. Engravings protected with tissue-guards (most of them).

Condition: Bindings bumped and scuffed, spine ends and joints somewhat nibbled. Internally a little bit toned, a few scattered stains (a bit more for the engravings). The first plate of vol. 1 is missing (as often). Else a good copy.
